On Dreams, Reality, and Marriage

On Dreams and Reality

It has been a month already since I have been slacking off on some of our 2021 goals. I don’t know but I feel like I am somebody new. I am the kind of woman who will do whatever it takes to get those goals but right now, I am really feeling sluggish.

And I feel like I am back to zero again.

I know you may be thinking, ‘You’ve done this and that, it’s okay. Don’t say that.’

While I appreciate it, let me just be what I wanna be now. I just wanna process what’s on my mind with the hopes of getting back on track.

I feel like there’s a big wall again in front of me, just taking me off the path again. But what’s good here is that I know that there’s something hindering me to move forward.

Autonomy maybe? Procrastination? Not really sure.

On Marriage

I must have been very blessed because I married a man so true to his words. Until now!

Ryan has been a very responsible, bubbly, and supportive head of the family. I couldn’t think of anyone else aside from him whom I wanna spend the rest of my life with.

We had a couple of misunderstandings but still, my love tank is full and I couldn’t complain really because I know I am with the best.

And in return, I really wanna be the best wife for him.

2021 Goals

2021.

I am claiming that this is the Year of Execution, Bravery, and Follow-Through.

Ever since I started working, I knew I have a problem with execution, bravery, and follow-through. And this year, I know I have to face them in order to reach my/our bold goals this year.

EXECUTION. I am a good planner. I know exactly what I want and how to do it but I know I lack strategy under the execution part. That’s why I really wanna progress more in this area and wanna do my best to execute the ideas and plans that I have in mind and in writing.

BRAVERY. For some, they think I am bold and brave enough to jump into something I don’t know but I really want. But honestly, I am not that brave, and I sometimes catch myself thinking about what might happen if I do this and that. So this year, I wanna focus more on this word – to be brave to do what I really want.

FOLLOW-THROUGH. The third and last word for 2021 is FOLLOW-THROUGH. Honestly, I think I can do the ‘execution’ and ‘bravery’ but I know it will be tough with this word, FOLLOW-THROUGH. As I said, I know what I want and I know how to get them. But I lack with follow-through. I usually forget the next steps that I need to do in order to move forward, or sometimes I am so lazy to look back, follow through, and check if I am in the right track.

I always wanna do this.. Writing yearly goals but this time I wanna incorporate these three powerful words to achieve our goals this year.

EXECUTION. BRAVERY. FOLLOW-THROUGH.

2021 Goals

1. SYSTEM FOR ECOMMERCE SHOPS

This year we are praying that ecommerce will be for us so my goal is to have a system for our ecommerce shops.

2. GROWTH OF WEBSITES

I think this is the goal that I have been writing every year and I get so frustrated each year as well with this. I know the websites that I am handling have a lot of potential and I wanna make the most out of it.

3. NURTURE MARRIAGE

Ryan and I will be celebrating our 2nd wedding monthsary next month and a lot has happened already! I can say that I am truly blessed to have a caring husband like him. He will always be my best ‘YES’.

4. NURTURE VIP RELATIONSHIPS

This year, I wanna focus more on my VIP relationships with people that I value the most. Made a list of my VIP relationships that I wanna nurture and give my time and effort. I always believe that quality goes above quantity.

5. START REAL ESTATE BUSINESS

Our goal is to have a number of passive income today that will help us retire early in the future. That’s why we wanna start our Real Estate Investment today.

6. INCREASE MONTHLY PASSIVE INCOME

Right now, our only passive income are these blogs and I wanna increase the monthly passive income that we are getting.

7. BABY #1

Yes!! Baby #1! They said no one’s gonna be prepared for anything including having a baby but this excites me the most!

8. FAMILY TO STAY HEALTHY

Praying that my family will always stay healthy especially during this pandemic.

9. FULLY FUNDED EMERGENCY FUND

We are planning to complete our emergency fund as soon as possible! Hope to complete 5 months worth of our monthly expenses.

10. MORE TRAVELS AND CAMPS

December 2020 Goals

Happy first day of December! Can’t believe it is actually the last month of the year already.

In general, I think I can say that we had an unbelievably rough 2020. COVID-19, quarantines, economy went down, loss of loved ones, and many more.

But still, I am grateful that there were a couple of silver linings this year that I personally encountered – new found skills brought about the pandemic, accidentally found our ‘Tummy’ along the road, work-from-home, two months stay in the province, and many other things to mention.

Above all, this is the month that I’ll be marrying the love of my life who came unexpectedly last year. Hihi.

Trying to stick with my goals starting July 2020 and I am happy to say that I am on track despite the late postings. Hehe.

2020 Faith Goals

So enough with the introduction, here are my December 2020 Goals.

Personal Goals

1. Complete Ecommerce and FB Ads Training

2. Social Media Marketing Training

3. Dye hair..again

4. Loss 2 kilos

Side Hustle Goals

1. 5 Blogs for Piathought and Visit Manila

2. Marketing plan for TBC

3. Complete Alltreats website

Relationship Goals

1.. Get married this month!

2. Celebration with family in Manila

3. Gala with Bai and Ericka

Bucket List

1.. Camping by the beach

2. Bonfire in a cold place with s’mores and hotdogs

Pia’s Thoughts

This is the last month of the year and I promise to bid 2020 with smile and laughter with people close to my heart. Still, I wanna thank God for giving me chances to see this world in a new light.

A chance to grow

A chance to mend whatever that is broken

A chance to learn to be happier

A chance to be more mindful and to practice self-awareness

A chance to know what God has still in store for me in this world.

Happy December 2020, everyone! Let’s congratulate ourselves for making it this far. Hopefully, there will be vaccine already in the next months and that we can live like it used to be in this world.

October 2020 Highlights – Best month so far!

Hi everyone! It was just the other day when the wifi connection here in the province was fixed because of Bagyong Ulysses. I tried to write in Agro Sports Complex in Daet, Camarines Norte where it has been our ‘second office’ (LOL), but nah, I haven’t written anything this month other than my November 2020 goals.

So, here are just some updates for my October 2020!

OCTOBER PERSONAL GOALS – Results

  • Travel safely to Camarines Norte – This is the very first time and Ryan and I went home to Camarines Norte with our Merlin (our secondhand Innova), which means this is our first time to try long drive! I am so happy to say that I drove from SLEX to Quezon! Then Atimonan to Lucena. But then, we couldn’t pass Lucena because it rained so hard the night before, and the flood is just so high even big trucks can’t pass. Good thing we found another route but took us around 21 hours in total to get home! Plus, it was really an adventure because there’s a part where we passed by the shore! As in we drove in the sand! Grabe. And then, we passed by the forests of Quezon. We always thought it’s the ‘Wrong way’. Haha! But still, thank God for keeping us safe allthrough out our journey!
  • Celebrate Ryan’s birthday – We had a simple celebration, we bought samgyupsal and ate our heart out. hehe! We also went to Rizal to celebrate Kuya Boboy and Ryan’s birthday together with Bibi (Ryan’s sister) and Richard (Bibi’s partner).
  • Fix our Financial Spreadsheet – Good thing we are now on track again!
  • Ryan to get his driver’s license – Ryan got his driver’s license! Finally!
  • Pia to finish Practical Driving Course – Yes! So happy to say that I finished my driving course with flying colors. LOL.
  • Pia to get her Student Driving Permit – Finally! I can drive peacefully. Hahaha!
  • Save an additional P30,000 for our Emergency Funds – Saved 15,000 pesos instead this month. Not bad!
  • Lose another 2 kilos – The opposite happened. We were in quarantine for two weeks here in the province and we don’t have a choice (we had pala lol) but to eat a lot, plus rice! So, the 2 kilos I lost in Cavite for 1 month, went back for only two weeks. Sad!

SIDE HUSTLE GOALS – Results

  • Validation Strategy for Sunlife – Sadly, I wasn’t able to follow this.
  • 5 blogs on Visit Manila – and this.
  • P30,000 profit for Alltreats – and this.. because we went home to the province.

RELATIONSHIP GOALS – Results

  • Breakfast/s with Mama – had a few breakfasts with Mama!
  • Gala with Diones sibs – went to a farm in Bars, Rizal with t
  • Cook more for Ryan – Yes! Cooked vegetable dishes more this month before going home to the province.

BUCKET LIST – Results

  • Camping at the beach – We didn’t camp at the beach but we camped in the mountain!
  • Try driving in EDSA (LOL) – Can’t believe I did this! Yes!

Pia’s Thoughts

I can say that I had a very fruitful October 2020!

November 2020 Goals

I know it’s November 29 already and I only have until tomorrow to post this! Haha. But still, better late than never as I promised myself to keep track of the goals I wanna achieve every month.

My November ’20 goals, which were also written on my Trello account, are actually just very straightforward and simple as I want to take slow on things and enjoy our life here in Camarines Norte.

November 2020 Goals

  1. File Marriage Certificate
  2. Visit 3 Municipalities in Camarines Norte
  3. Make a life project tracker

If you are a constant reader (hello, friend! Let me know if you are reading this. hehe), you would know that I wanna keep track of my life as a whole. I wanna write everything down as much as possible because I am one forgetful lady. Haha! Praying for more consistency in this part though.

That’s it my loves! Below are my 2020 goals per month and my highlights since July ’20. How about you? How do you keep track of your goals and memories?

Let’s go, October!

September 2020: Goals Update & Highlights

September has been a bit quick for me.

Half of my September was spent in quarantine. Although I’m okay with it, being quarantined for one month is no joke. There are times that I just wanna break out and cry. But of course, the stronger self dominated the scene.

Here are just some of the things I did last September 2020.

September 2020 Goals Update

These are the goals that I listed on my September 2020 Goals.

1 Celebrated our first anniversary

We are not really counting months and are not particular with the date but last September, we celebrated inside the house with a samgyupsal set. Ryan also bought me a mountain bike and I bought him a nice gaming chair as well. Our lunch date was pretty simple yet memorable.

2 More self-love – Exercise, diet, and skincare

Mid last month, Ryan and I started to say goodbye to carbs, specifically rice! While Ryan’s weight significantly decreased, mine is a bit slow worker. Maybe I should add more exercise. I also tried a new skincare set with Derma Natufian brand. So far, so good!

3 Pass the driving school exam and save P10,000 for Practical Driving Course

Before September ended, I finally took the Driving School’s exam for theoretical driving course (I passed, 1 take!) and got my certificate for Student’s permit! I can now drive!

September 2020 Bucket List

These are also some of the bucket list that I wrote for September 2020.

1 Date with Ryan in a secluded place

We had two dates last September! One is in Tagaytay and the other is at the beach! Hope to post it here soon!

2 Be more creative – draw, paint, write

I think I have done this because last September 2020, I have written more! September is actually the month this 2020 wherein I wrote a lot! I also had one blog collaboration with pay. Hehe! Can’t believe I wrote 7 blogs last September. Kaya naman pala!

3 Lose 2 kgs

Because of our no rice challenge, I got 1 kilo less in my system! Haha. Small number but I am so happy already! My heaviest is 58kgs. And when we started, I was about 56.80, as I remembered correctly.

Other September 2020 Highlights

Drive Days

Ryan and I bought our Merlin (Innova) last July and we were so excited to drive — however, we got sick. So I am really happy that we get to drive near our place.

Finally COVID-19 FREE

After 1 one month of battling Covid-19, I am now fully recovered! Aside from the gratefulness of my recovery, I am happy that Mama and Evond (my nephew) weren’t infected by the virus.

Please read if you wanna know the story: I Got Positive with COVID-19. Here’s My Story.

Bike Days

We had so much fun biking! It was also the first time for me to bike in the highway. While I was really nervous plus Ryan keeps on teasing me, I am still so happy! FREEDOM!

Pia’s Thoughts

September has been filled with so much activities that I felt the month quickly just passed by! Happy still that I get to try so many new things this month. Yey!

To The One I Love

I have difficulties in putting my thoughts to words simply because you will always be more than the wonderful words I could ever write.

Love, I would like to thank you for our fruitful first year.

Guess it’s really a fruitful one if both are ready for the relationship.

But for me, I would like to thank you more for handling ‘us’ carefully and at the same time, joyfully. (kahit lagi mo akong kinukulit at iniinis.)

Our first travel together. I remember praying to God on my first Batanes travel na kung sino ang makakasama ko sa susunod na Batanes ko, yun na ang the one! Haha!

Thank you for waking me up every morning with kisses and hugs — even if this annoys me at all times because I still wanna sleep.

Thank you for making up to me whenever you feel that I am tired of all the chores already. Your simple way of washing the dishes or cooking lunch really makes my heart burst with gratefulness.

In times of misunderstandings, thank you for your hugs which clearly reminds me always that it’s not about the you versus me. It’s about the problem versus us.

Thank you for your wide perspective in life and for being open-minded with things I cannot fully understand.

You are my stopper.

My guide when I am getting pissed with small things, and my reminder to let go of the things I can’t control.

Thank you too for protecting me to anyone, anyone who hurts me, or would wanna hurt me. I saw this with my naked eyes and ears of how your love protects me. For that, thank you, my love.

Love, thank you that for the first time in my life, I feel that finally, finally someone came along who is more than willing to love me for who I am and what I can do.

Thank you because since I met you, I learned to love myself more, forgive myself more, be gentle with my self more, and be the best version of myself more to love you and the people around me even more.

This blog will never be enough to tell the world how I love to love you.

Really, thank you for coming to my life.

I am excited for the days to come with you by my side. Thank you for all the everyday laughter, for all the hugs, and for all our jumps whenever something exciting is coming — from grab food delivery to our Merlin and to many other things and achievements.

I love you.

I Got Positive with COVID-19. Here’s My Story.

It’s around eleven in the morning when I got a call from an unregistered number.

“This is it.”, I said to myself.

“Hi Mam. Staff po ako ng ng Ospital ng Imus. Nagpositive po kayo sa lab test for Covid po.”, said the staff from the other line with her voice so straight you can tell that she is used to calling people who are positive with the virus.

My heart was calm but I feel like my voice is getting a little shaky. I just listened to her, the next steps, with Ryan holding my hand.

After the call, Ryan hugged me tight and that when I started crying. But honestly, I am not sure why I’m crying. I felt blank for a while, as if there’s a white blanket in front of me.

Our COVID-19 Story

I am not really sure about the date but it was I think August 12-13 when Ryan and I were feeling a little tired. Seems like we don’t wanna move.

Parang may nanghihila na humiga at magpahinga. And we did. I thought Aunt Flo was just near already because I usually get headaches and body pains when I have my monthly visits.

But no, after a day or two, our symptoms worsen and the rest is history. I got the virus, Ryan was negative. We still don’t know why.

Where do you think you got the virus?

Honestly, we are not sure.

It was ECQ here in Cavite when everything happened and we usually don’t go out of the house unless mamamalengke kami dito lang sa subdivision.

We’re also thinking, since we are selling, maybe because of the riders? Or the money that we are getting everyday?

We’ll never know.

COVID-19 SYMPTOMS

Personally, these are the symptoms I got.

  • Day 1 – 3: Fatigue
  • Day 4: Super fatigue
  • Day 5: Fever with body and joint pains
  • Day 6: Fever with body and joint pains plus no sense of taste/smell
  • Day 7: Fatigue and mild sore throat
  • Day 8: No sore throat, still weak, no sense of taste/smell
  • Day 9: Swab test, dry cough, no sense of taste/smell
  • Day 10: Lightheaded, no sense of taste/smell, dry cough
  • Day 11:

What does it feel when you have COVID-19?

This is mostly the question I got from friends and family when I told them I have COVID 19.

Day 1-2
August 12-13:
– Ryan and I were feeling unusually tired that we just wanna lie down and rest.

Day 3
August 14:
– Ryan had a fever. Worst part because I still feel tired and my body was aching already but no fever.

Day 4
August 15:
– Ryan still has fever. I was feeling under the weather already but of course, I need to stand up, cook, and take care of Ryan. I think Ryan can’t taste here already.

Day 5
August 16:
– Ryan doesn’t have fever already. But sadly, ako naman. My whole body was aching particularly the joints in both of my hands, my back, and legs. I honestly didn’t know how we ate during this times. As far as I know, Ryan and I were juggling tasks — luto, timpla kape, gawa merienda. Hehe.
– Ryan has no sense of taste and smell already

Day 6
August 17:
– Still with fever, plus, no sense of taste/smell already. But! Mind you guys, hindi kami nawalan ng gana. We just ate and ate gaya ng dati, even if we can’t taste/smell the food. Still laughing when I remember imagining the taste of my favorite Sinigang na Baboy while eating. Haha! Feeling ko nga tumaba ako lalo nung nagkasakit. LOL.
– Ryan was still feeling hot from time to time with body aches.
– Ryan had a mild sore throat.
– Called Imus COVID hotline. After several attempts, someone answered the phone, got our details, then nothing happened. So we called and called all the numbers that are related to COVID Imus.

Day 7
August 18:
– My fever went away already but still felt weak.
– Still with body pains and aching joints here.
– Super mild sore throat
– Ryan is still weak and both of us are starting to have a dry cough.
– Again we called IMUS COVID hotlines and someone from the Imus Lab answered and told us to get a ‘Referral’ from any Doctor for us to be swabbed the next day. Sayang lang because we really wanna get swabbed the next day already. But of course, we complied.

Day 8
August 19:
– Feels weak still. But a little better than the previous days.
– We both have dry cough.
– Went to Imus Clinic before 8AM, the clinic that we were told to go to to get a ‘Referral’. The clinic, as far as I remembered opened before 9AM and we still need to wait for the nurse as per the staff there. However, to our dismay, they don’t know about the ‘referral’ to be swabbed. Sabi pa nga ng Doctor na andon, we don’t know about it. You just need money.
– We then went to Ospital ng Imus praying to be swabbed right then and there. But, there’s no walk-in allowed. We can just pay then go back the following day. If we knew that we don’t need the ‘Referral from a Doctor’, we would have asked for slots. We really wanna get swabbed.
– We paid 4,000 pesos each to get a reservation for swab test

Day 9
August 20:
– We were scheduled at 9AM to 10AM and we arrived at around 9:05AM and got swabbed around 10:30 AM. Staff said to wait for 7 days but if positive, they will call us after 3 days.
– Dry cough and no smell/taste still
– I’m still lightheaded
– Ryan has a Doctor at work so he asked for reseta. Glad that there’s Grab Pabili. Nagpabili kami sa Mercury. Glad that all meds were available! We paid for 2800 in total just for our medicines. Still thankful. We took antibiotics and vitamins C with zinc.

Day 10
August 21-22:
– Dry cough and no smell/taste still
– I’m still lightheaded
– Ryan had diarrhea

Day 11
August 23:
– I got diarrhea as well.
– I also feel stressed and tired again
– 3rd day after we got swabbed. Praying no one will call from Ospital ng Imus.
– At around 11 AM, I got a call from an unregistered number. And yes, it’s from the Ospital ng Imus confirming that I am positive from COVID. Yes, I cried a little. Haha.
– Ryan didn’t get a call. And we confirmed that he is negative. Weird because we got the same symptoms, he even got it first at parang nahawa lang ako.
– I reported to our HOA, Barangay, CESU, that I am positive.
– CESU only informed me to rest well, drink vitamin C, and more water. They asked for my close contacts but they never tried calling Ryan and Mama. Glad Mama is doing well.
– I informed my boss and Shopee as well that I am positive.

August 24:
– Diarrhea still. Mama gave us some food, Gatorade, and Pocari Sweat
– Ryan and I still had dry cough here.

August 25 – August 29
– Still with slight dry cough
– Sometimes I experienced pain in my chest
– Usually, I get tired just after a couple of walks inside the house

August 29:
– I think this is the date where I called CESU and asked if I can request for reswabbing. They said it’s possible but since there are a lot of backlogs, maybe the swabbing will take two weeks from the requested date. Once the Swab Team is already at your home and you are not experiencing signs, as per CESU, I just need to tell them that I am okay already. LOL.

August 30 – 31

– No symptoms

September 1:
– I called CESU again and asked how to get the certification for the and yes, we’ll end our quarantine this September 4. We need to go to the Velarde Clinic in Imus to get our certification that I am already negative.
– Ryan and I decided to re-swab on Friday. Bye bye 8,000 again.
– Both of us have little to no cough already

(Will update this until I’m already cleared)

TIPS if you have a friend/family with COVID-19

  • Never ask her/him this: “Sa dinami-dami ng tao, bakit kaya ikaw pa?”. Like what’s the point in asking? Please, don’t. That’s just rude and can’t help with the fast recovery.
  • Kamustahin lagi. Wag naman minu-munito. Hehe. Remind them that everything will be okay soon.
  • Pray for them.
  • Message her/his parents if close kayo, ask if they’re okay. 🙂
